FULL HOUSE RENOVATION: Herne Hill SE21

The house renovation in Herne Hill was a wonderful case study in using Tikkurila paint. My client was very keen to move away from a neutral palette and introduce colour throughout but was mindful of the budget, which needed to stretch quite a bit. I was also keen to use accent colours on woodwork and joinery, which always increases the volume of paints needed so we decided to give Tukkurila a go, using it in one room to start with to see how the colour match worked and once we werehappy then we bought for the rest of the house.

Tikkurila offers a wide range of finishes, large sample tins and a bespoke colour match service, and a great application, which made our decorators very happy!

The site is easy to navigate around and for this project we used the Optiva5, which is a water-based emulsion, with no VOCs, for the walls and then both Helmi 10 and 30 for the woodwork depending on the level of shine desired.  Helmi 30 worked particularly well on the panelling in the hallway, a high traffic area with low level of light.

The customer services is also a great asset if you are not sure on the exact finish, as there is such a huge array on the website so this is invauable resourse and my project finished with a very  happy client.
